IPPC--The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPPC) website provides access to the documents and reports of the IPPC at http://www.ipcc.ch/" The Webside does not provide downloadable statistics in spreadsheet format but at https://www.ipcc-nggip.iges.or.jp/EFDB/otherdb.php does provide links to many other websites on specific topics, many of which provide free data.

WilliamCline--A summary of William Cline's 2007 book "Global Warming and Agriculture: Impact Estimates by Country" is available at https://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/fandd/2008/03/pdf/cline.pdf

World Bank, -- The World Bank provides a wealth of data on climate, climate change and the environment. The Climate Change Knowledge Portal provides a central location for reports and data on world climate change. The site is available at https://climateknowledgeportal.worldbank.org
. The Bank provides environment data in time series on the World Development Indicators (WDI) at http://databank.worldbank.org/data/databases.aspx . You can get the data for the latest year for a single country from links on http://data.worldbank.org/topic/environment

US National Weather Service -- This page contains links to shapefiles and raster files for weather data for both the United States and other parts of the world.  Definitions for the shapefile codes can be found in a text file as part of the shapefile package. The site is available at http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/GIS/GIS_DATA/

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) -- provides data, graphs and maps on a variety of environmental issues. A menu of data sources is available at http://www.unep.org/Documents.Multilingual/Default.asp?DocumentID=293 . The main country level data base is the GEO data portal which has time-series data on more than 400 indicators. This data base will provide data as downloadable files in a number of formats including .csv and .xml. The downloads include both the ISO 2 and 3 character country codes for easy linking to other data bases.  The GEO Data Portal is available at   UNEP  http://geodata.grid.unep.ch/#

United Nations -- Data on the environment indicators related to the Millennium Development Goals is available at http://unstats.un.org/unsd/mi/mi_goals.asp  .

Gapminder -- Gapminder is an innovative data presentation web site that provides dynamic views of data changes over time using bubble graphs. Graphs are available for economic, population, health, environmental, agricultural and information technology data. Raw data can be downloaded from the site and a desktop version of the software is available free. Users can customize graphs using existing data, but cannot add new data. Much of the data used is from the World Bank and UN organizations. Gapminder is at http://www.gapminder.org .

WRI--The World Resources Institute provides data in both spreadsheet and shapefile formats at www.wri.org/resources/data_sets. The organization also provides links to other sites with large amonts of data and GIS resources at https://www.wri.org/resources/data-platforms CAIT The Climate Analysis Indicator tool web page provides information on the tool at http://www.ccap.org/docs/resources/234/Baumert_CAIT-Nov04.pdf. 

GIS Resources--This site provides links to free data resources on climate --http://www.gisresources.com/weather-climate/

NOAA (Office of Satelite and Product Operations)-- This office is " responsible for maintaining the comprehensive scheduling and data information for both Geostationary and Polar orbiting satellites along with providing products derived from the data collected by these satellites". It's home page is at https://www.ospo.noaa.gov/. Data is available in Shapefile and Tif formats from the Climate Prediction Center at http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/GIS/GIS_DATA/.

NCAR NCAR Community Climate System Model (CCSM) projections in GIS formats. The free data sets of climate change projections can be downloaded as a shapefile, a text file, or as an image. Registration is required to download this data. The site is at https://gisclimatechange.ucar.edu/

Global Water Forum-- The site at http://www.globalwaterforum.org/learning-hub/data/ provides access to portals with free data

WorldClim--Global Climate Data-- "Free climate data for ecological modeling and GIS"-- http://worldclim.org

Global Footprint Network -- Provides data on land use, ecological footprint,  etc. by year and by country. Files download in csv format. Available at http://data.footprintnetwork.org/#/
